Sepe, adalah bunga yang lebih kita kenal dengan nama Flamboyan, mempunyai nama Latin Delonix Regia. Sepe merupakan nama yang diberikan oleh masyarakat kota kupang. Pohon tersebut memang bukan merupakan sesuatu yang ikonik di kota kupang karena hanya dapat dilihat pada penghujung tahun, terutama pada bulan desember.
Sepe, is a flower that we know more by the name Flamboyan, has the Latin name Delonix Regia. Sepe is the name given by the people of Kupang city. The tree is not great thing that become iconic of Kupang city just because it can only be seen at the end of the year, especially in December.
Termasuk salah satu tanaman tropis yang berasal dari madagaskar dan bisa tumbuh diberbagai kondisi lingkungan termasuk daerah karang seperti kota kupang, dengan tingkat sinar matahari yang cukup tinggi serta sedikit air untuk bertahan maka tidaklah mengherankan kalau bunga tersebut dapat ditemui diberbagai sudut kota Kupang.

Rona merah yang terpancar dari Bunga Sepe melengkapi kesejukan yang dirasa dengan datangnya musim penghujan. Tunas tunas bunga yang bermunculan dari dahan yang sebelumnya kering mencakar dan dengan latar landscape berwarna coklat menjadi landscape hijau menjadi simbol pengharapan baru untuk sesuatu yang lebih baik di tahun berikutnya.

Suasana merah diberbagai sudut kota menjadi pemandangan yang sangat kontras dengan pemandangan yang dirasakan dibulan bulan sebelumnya. Keindahan bunga Sepe membuat hati kecil berharap dan berdoa serta berkhayal semoga bunga Sepe dapat dinikmati sepanjang tahun untuk meneduhkan suasana hati.

Saya sangat menunggu bulan desember sehingga dapat melihat terus indahnya warna merah disepanjang jalan.
