Air Terjun Oenesu adalah objek wisata di Kupang, Nusa Tenggara Timur. Air terjun ini berjarak sekitar 25 kilometer dari pusat kota Kupang. Wilayah Air Terjun Oenesu meliputi area yang terdiri dari hutan heterogen yang dialiri sungai. Keunikan dari air terjun ini adalah memiliki tingkatan yang mencapai 4 tingkat dalam satu air terjun. Air mengalir diatas bebatuan yang menjadi ciri khas pulau Timor yaitu tanah berkarang sehingga memberikan warna indah tersendiri. Diantara air terjun ini terdapat bendungan air yang bisa dimanfaatkan oleh pengunjung untuk berenang atau berendam sambil menikmati pemandangan alam di sekitarnya. Air Terjun Oenesu memang sudah terkenal sejak lama dan telah menjadi tempat wisata favorit untuk menghabiskan liburan oleh wisatawan lokal.
Oenesu Waterfall is a Tourism Site in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. This waterfall is approximately 25 kilometers from the center of the city of Kupang. Oenesu Waterfall region covers an area consisting of heterogeneous forest with river flowed. The uniqueness of this waterfall is to have 4 level in a waterfall. Water flowing over the rocks that characterizes the island of Timor is rocky land and thus providing a beautiful color of its surrounding. Among these there is a waterfall dam water that can be used by visitors to swim or bathe while enjoying views of the nature surrounding. Oenesu Waterfall is already well known for a long time and has become a favorite tourist spot to spend a holiday by local tourists.
Suatu hari saya berkunjung ketempat ini dan kebetulan saya berkunjung bukan pada saat weekend atau hari libur sehingga tempat ini terasa lengang dan sepi. Hanya terdengar gemuruh air terjun. Meski air yang mengalir tidak cukup deras, namun saya merasakan alirannya begitu deras pada saat berada didepannya seolah - olah dapat menghempasku.
One day I was visiting this place and Unfortunately not on a weekend or a holiday, so this place was felt so empty and deserted. Only heard the rumble of a waterfall. Although it was not enough water profusely flowing, but I felt the heavy and wide flow of water at the time I stand in front of this waterfall as if could throw me away.
Saya berkunjung tepat di awal musim kemarau, oleh karena itu saya dengan mudah bisa menjelajah ke area tengah sungai mendekat ke arah air terjun. Disekeliling saya melihat beberapa pohon besar yang masih terjaga. Tampak dari akarnya yang menandakan bahwa umur pohon itu sangat tua.
I visited right at the beginning of the dry season, therefore I could easily ventured into the center area of the river closer to the waterfall. Around I saw several large trees were still awake. It appears from the roots which indicates that the age of the tree is very old.
Meski ada beberapa pendopo untuk istirahat para pengunjung, saya lebih memilih duduk ditengah - tengah sungai menghadap ke arah air terjun bertingkat ini. Sembari menyaksikan air yang mengalir mengikuti alur - alur bebatuan menuju ke tempat yang lebih rendah.
Although there were several marquee for visitors to take a rest, but I prefer to sit in the middle of the river facing this cascading waterfall. While watching the water flow by flowing path through rocks leading to a lower place.
Sungguh pemandangan yang luar biasa. Meski air terjun yang berukuran kecil tidak seperti air terjun Niagara yang sangat besar dan luas, air terjun ini mampu mengundang mata saya untuk melihat dan merasakan seperti berada di sebuah dunia yang lain.
Truly incredible views. Although it is a small waterfall and not such a huge and spacious waterfall like Niagara Falls, the waterfall was able to invite my eyes to look and feel like being in another world.
Bentuk bumi cukup menyeramkan tatkala air yang ada dipermukaan bumi mulai surut dan mendangkal. Tanah dan bebatuan terkikis oleh air yang mengalir sepanjang waktu. Pada saat air sungai membanjiri daerah aliran sungai, maka ukiran - ukiran di bebatuan ini akan tidak tampak sama sekali.

Dan ternyata dibalik bebatuan itu tampak ada segerombolan udang sedang berlindung ibarat seperti rumah yang kita gunakan sebagai tempat berlindung dari kondisi alam yang tidak menentu. Tapi syukur setelah meninggalkan air terjun ini, saya jumpai bahwa air digunakan untuk mengaliri sawah dan kebun warga sekitarnya. Dan sebuah air terjun sebagai tempat melepas lelah dan bahkan dikunjungi oleh banyak orang hanya untuk melihat air yang mengalir. Ya melihat air mengalir di Air Terjun Oenesu.
And it turns out there behind the rocks was looked like a swarm of ensconced shrimp just like the house that we use as a shelter from uncertain natural conditions. But glad to know after leaving this waterfall, I have encountered that water flown through the fields and gardens of surrounding residents. And a waterfall as a place to unwind and even visited by many people just to see the water flowing. Ya see the water flowing in Oenesu Waterfall.
